17th Edition Courses – Time is running out!

We have recently been informed by the City and Guilds that from the 1st January 2012 the 17th Edition update course will be discontinued. The update course was aimed at people who already held the 16th Edition qualification and was designed to last only one day so saving people time and money. We are also aware that people who are currently members of Government approved part p schemes and do not have this qualification after January 1st 2012 will not to be able to re-join their scheme and sign off their own work.
So to avoid having to any part p scheme issues or pay for the full 17th Edition Course which lasts 3 Days we would strongly advise you to book one of our Update 17th Edition Courses as soon as possible.

Course News

Solar PV Training: Our first ever Solar PV Training Course has just started with all our customers commenting on how realistic a set up we have here at Electrical Training 4U. We have 2 large roofs with 2 fully operational Solar PV Systems for them to learn and work on. It should be a fantastic week!

Part P Course: We still keep being asked why our Part P Courses (City and Guilds 2393) are only for 2 days and not 5. The simple answer is City and Guilds recommends 1 day for people with some experience so we have successfully tailored our course over 2 days to accommodate people who have little or no experience. We can also boast a 100% pass rate! So why pay for 5 days training for the same qualification that you can get with us in 2?

Visit our website or speak to a member of our team for more info!

NAPIT Approved Training Centre

We are now a NAPIT approved training centre which is fantastic news for all our new and old customers who have undertaken our Electrical Courses as they will be able to get a reduction of £100.00 on their first year’s membership. So all of our customers can join up to NAPIT for £260.00 for the first year which represents excellent value for money when you consider the alternative of paying building control approximately £200.00 per finished electrical job/installation.

Your customer will get peace of mind as you will have been proved competent by NAPIT with the finished work being insured by NAPIT for 6 years after you have finished the job.
So by training with Electrical Training 4U you will be able to take advantage of yet another value added service/product which supports our key phrase “quality electrical training at affordable prices”.

More Course Dates Now Available

We are now running more Electrical Courses to meet increased demand whilst also giving our customers more flexibility when it comes to choice of course dates.

We were not prepared to increase the size of our classes to meet the increased demand as we strongly believe that in this case small is definitely better. With smaller class sizes we are able to offer training that is unbeatable in the market and that statement is supported with a 98% City and Guilds exam pass rate.

With extra course dates we are also in a better position to cater for our customers that have either work commitments or financial pressures and need to spread their training over longer periods.

We attribute our increase in Electrical Courses demand to customer referrals combined with quality training at affordable prices.

When it comes to quality training at realistic pricing we are most definitely number one in the country. Book a course now and come and see for yourself............

Pay as you train

We are fully aware that some of our customers are not able to simply take off 15/20 Days to attend our longer Electrical Training Courses and would like to have the opportunity to split the courses up to suit their own personal circumstances.

So we have........ Both our 15 Day Domestic Electrician Course and 20 Day Domestic Electrician Package with Experience Week is now available in blocks of 5 days and can be attended over any amount of time to fit in with our customer’s requirements.

To book we will simply need a deposit for the Electrician Courses (as per our website course costs) with the balance payment being split evenly between the courses remaining. We believe this is a more flexible and fairer way to train!

Why so cheap ?

We keep being asked why is your 15 Day Domestic Electrician Course so cheap in comparison to other Electrical Training providers and what’s the catch?

The simple answer is we are not cheap and there is no catch, the others are simply expensive! We make sure that we manage our overheads and marketing activity to ensure that we offer quality Electrician Training Courses at affordable prices.
We do not do any internet marketing as we are naturally high up the search engines without having to spend vast amounts of money on Google Pay Per Click campaigns and so do not have to pass that cost on to our customers.

We manage all of our Business costs with close scrutiny so that we can keep all of our overheads as low as possible and enable us to be as competitive as we can.
We recognise also that financially times at the moment are very tough and people are not prepared or able to pay unrealistic Electrical Training costs. That is why we have also included in the cost of £1,700.00 (Including VAT) either all the course literature required for the courses or a CK Electricians Premium Tool Kit. We can truly say there are no hidden costs in our Electrician Training Courses.

PAT On The Back

We love seeing our customers pleased with the training they receive at ET4U! Here’s a quick testimonial from one of our recent students:

I’ve recently finished a pat testing course with ET4U and I’m absolutely delighted with my experience. When I first spoke to Nigel Best, the MD, he was very interested in my story and, sensing I was a little hesitant, put me at ease by suggesting that I come and visit the facilities and see if I liked what I saw.

I did visit and I was extremely impressed with the new centre. The classrooms and workshops were smart and comfortable, and I had a great chat with Steve Chambers the Electrical Trainer about the pat testing courses. I told him I worked at a shopping centre doing maintenance work, but wanted to broaden my skill set and learn how to inspect and test the centre’s electrical equipment. Steve explained what the two day pat testing course involved, the skills I would learn, and how it would benefit me in the future. Nigel also mentioned that I could take an additional experience course at ET4U so that I could put my new skills to a practical test under supervision, ironing out any problems and ensuring that I make my mistakes before I take on any real world challenges.

The friendly and knowledgeable manner of both men made my decision an easy one. I took the pat testing courses and now I’m fully qualified to test and inspect electrical equipment, and am earning a lot more than I used to! My task was made a lot easier by the steady stream of teas and coffees while I studied—although I’m not sure if I should be revealing this trade secret! So thanks a million Nigel and Steve, I’d happily recommend your excellent and professional training centre to anyone!

Make sure you Visit the Electrical training Facilities

When you are considering booking Electrician Training Courses you should always try to visit the centre rather than relying purely on the pictures posted on their Website. Quite a few of us will have experienced staged photographs that make things look more appealing and larger than they really are in real life and in our experience this can be said about some Electrical Training Facilities.

By also visiting and seeing the Electrical Training Facilities first hand you will get an excellent feel for the training environment which is why at ET4U we would like as many people as practically possible to come and see our Electrical Training Facilities for themselves as we can boast that 100% of people who visited us booked with us!

PAT Testing Course Benefits

If you take our PAT Testing Course it will expand your electrical market and most importantly increase your income.

British law (the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 in particular) requires that all electrical systems (including electrical appliances) are maintained (so far as is reasonably practicable) to prevent danger.

The best way to prove this has been done is to Visually Inspect and PAT Test so get booked on our PAT Testing Course Now!

Part P Training Explained

There seems to be a lot of confusion about Part P Training Courses and Part P Registered Schemes so we thought we would put the record straight.

Part P Training Courses should really be referred to as a Building Regulation Courses as Part P is one of the 14 Parts included in Building Regulations 2000 and relates specifically to Electrical Safety.
As for Part P Registered Schemes they do not exist and are known as Approved Competent Persons schemes.

Don’t be confused by industry jargon.

What to look for when choosing an Electrical Training Centre

We have recently had feedback from our customers and potential customers that finding the right electrical training provider can be very difficult, time consuming and extremely confusing so we thought we would take this opportunity to list a few key points that must be considered when making your decision.

  1. Class Size – In this case smaller is better. Ideally you should be looking at a class size of no more than 8 Students per instructor as this will allow the trainer to highlight very quickly any additional support that you may require. Any more than 8 in the class and you may get lost in the crowd! Make sure you ask before you book!
  2. Approved Centre - Make sure that the courses the training centre offers are accredited by awarding bodies which in our case is the City and Guilds. We would encourage all customers to go to the awarding bodies’ website and check that the training centre is approved for the qualification it is delivering.
  3. Learning Environment – When considering workshop based courses make sure that these are as close to real life scenarios as possible. Simply training in work bays alone will not give you the real life training you need. Make sure you ask the question before you book!
  4. After Course Support – Find out if your training provider is prepared to go the extra mile by holding you back at the end of the day if required to give you one to one training to address an area you may be struggling in.

We strongly recommend that all customers wishing to undertake any Electrical Training address the points mentioned above to ensure they receive the right training, Qualification and support.

ET4U partner with Megger UK

ET4U have recently broadened their services by teaming up with electrical testing equipment experts Megger UK. Megger UK have provided high quality electric test equipment for over a hundred years, having first registered their trademark in 1903, and are best known for their world-renowned range of insulation testers.

The aim behind the strategic partnership is to provide ET4U’S customers with an opportunity to get their hands on key equipment at affordable prices, and the chance to get familiar with these instruments during the course.

Nigel Best, the director of ET4U, thinks the partnership will be extremely beneficial to his customers, and the availability of equipment such as the MPU690 Proving Unit, the MFT1700 Series and the TPT200 Series will ensure that his clients will “leave our centre with a quality and reliable product, and a full understanding of how to use it”.
